Assignments, formerly Small Group Skills, allow you to assign differentiated lessons to your students. Most Assignments include an instructional video, an interactive practice activity, and a short quiz to demonstrate learning. You can also use our filters to see which grade levels and content each lesson aligns to, as well as set your standards within your teacher settings.

Students can complete Assignments in about 15 minutes, giving you real-time data on student progress.

1. Select the lesson you want to assign to students.

To find the right lesson for your students, you can use the search bar at the top of the page. You can search by topic, standard code, or skill. You can also filter your search by grade (PK-8th grade) or subject.

2. Preview a lesson.

Once you choose a lesson, you can preview the student experience and determine whether the content is right for your students.

3. Choose which students will receive the lesson, and when the lesson will appear for them.

Once you are ready to assign a lesson, click the blue "Assign" button in the top right corner of the screen (blue arrow). Next, select the class you want to assign the lesson to (red arrow). Then, click "Edit Students" to choose which students will receive this lesson (green arrow).

Clicking "Edit Students" will bring up your class roster. Once you are finished choosing which students will receive this lesson, click "Done."

You can then choose to assign this lesson to your students immediately, or schedule the lesson for any day in the future.

💡 If your class is connected to Google Classroom, you can also choose to post a link to Google Classroom.

Assignments are under the "From My Teacher" section on the student page.

Students can see up to three lessons per subject at a time.

1. From the main Assignments tab, click "My Assignments" in the top right corner of the screen.

2. Click on a lesson title to view student data for the lesson.

Here you can see how many students have finished the lesson, your class's average score, commonly missed questions, how far each student is in the lesson, and their individual scores. Click into a student's score to see their answers to each question on the quiz.

3. If you'd like to end the lesson for any reason, you can click on the red "End Assignment" button in the top right corner. This will end the lesson for all students it has been assigned to.

A new feature within your Customize eSpark settings is the ability to select your State-Specific Standards. This feature will auto-filter the Assignments to match your standards.
