Adding Students to Your Roster Using Join Codes: Steps & Best Practices

Choosing the Class Code method: If your school does not use Google, Clever, or Classlink, our Class Code process is a great way to get your students added to eSpark. We recommend completing this with all students at one time, where you can provide support and ensure that all students joined the roster successfully.

​Using Google, but Not Google Classroom: If your school uses Google accounts, but does not use the Google Classroom features, you can use a Class Code to roster your students into your class. This will allow students to log into eSpark using the "Log in with Google" option. Just like with our Class Code option, we recommend completing this step with all students at the same time to ensure successful joining!

Special Education/Interventionists/Teachers without a Homeroom Roster: Regardless of the rostering method other teachers at your school use, the Class Code option will be the easiest choice for ensuring your rosters are specific to the students you support and allow you to streamline data and assignments that you see within your teacher dashboard. Our Class Code option is a great choice for teachers that do not have a "homeroom" of students specifically assigned or if they support multiple students in different classrooms/grade levels during the school year. Students will login their usual way then join your class using the steps below.

To have students join your class, locate your class code on the Class Roster. Each class is assigned a unique class code, which can be found within the roster for each respective class and also provides additional student-joining instructions.
