What is audio support?
Teachers can choose for students to have audio support. This is when questions, passages, and instructions are read aloud to students.
Every student's audio support settings is set to ‘Auto’ by default. 'Auto' means that audio supports are turned on if the student's reading level in eSpark is currently between PK and 2nd grade.
If a student is working on 3rd grade reading and above, but they could benefit from having eSpark read aloud to them, and you change their audio setting from ‘Auto’ to ‘On' so eSpark will read to them.
If a student is working on 2nd grade reading and below, but is a strong reader, you can change their audio setting from ‘Auto’ to ‘Off,’ and they'll need to read to themselves.
How can teachers turn on audio for students?
Teachers are able to change their students’ audio support settings from the Roster Tab in the teacher dashboard.
1. Click on the Roster tab on your teacher dashboard.
2. Click “edit” next to the student you’d like to change the audio setting for.
