With eSpark Premium students have access to the adaptive learning path. The placement quiz helps find each student’s appropriate starting level for their reading and math paths.
How does it work?
Students in grades 1-5 will automatically be assigned a placement quiz when they log into eSpark for the first time.
It should take about 5-15 minutes for students to complete each subject's placement quiz. eSpark will save student progress if they don't complete the entire placement quiz in a single sitting.
The number of questions in the placement quiz varies depending on student performance throughout the quiz.
After the placement quiz, eSpark automatically assigns standards-aligned “Quests” at their level.
How to manually change a student's adaptive learning path level
Use the SUBJECT drop-down to choose the subject you'd like to adjust.
Click "change their reading level" or "change their math level."
Choose a new domain for the student to work on.
💡 Note: Some domains will have "easier" or "harder" option. If the "easier" or "harder" button is greyed out, you can use the "choose a different domain" option instead.
Click "save" and you're all set! The next time the student logs in, they will see the new level you selected!
How to re-assign the placement quiz
Use the SUBJECT drop-down to choose the subject you'd like the student to receive a new placement quiz.
Click "change their reading level" or "change their math level."
Click "re-assign the placement quiz."
💡 Note: we only have placement quizzes for grades 1-5. The placement quiz you can reassign is based on the student's grade level on the Class Roster. If the student is in PK, K, or grades 6+, you will not have the option of reassigning the placement quiz.
Confirm your action by clicking "re-assign the placement quiz." Then you're all set! The next time the student logs in, they will take a brand new placement quiz.
