Note: LemonJar's iOS Console may be an easier option: https://lemonjar.com/iosconsole/

Xcode, a developer tool from Apple, can be used to read the console logs from an iPad. Note: this requires a Mac OS X computer running a recent version of the operating system.

Troubleshooting:

  • If you prohibit pairing with computers via a restrictions policy, or if iPads were supervised with Apple Configurator and the option to 'prevent pairing with other computers' was selected, you may not be able to use Xcode to read logs from your iPad.
